He has been practicing podiatry in a private setting since 1982 when he first established his practice in Sun City, Arizona. Dr. Friedlander’s practice emphasizes a diversity of areas including vascular foot and ankle, geriatric, diabetic, and wound care issues. He is well respected and has been highlighted among the Top Docs in Phoenix Magazine.
A native of the Los Angeles area, he received his undergraduate degree in microbiology from San Diego State University in California. He is an honored doctoral graduate of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and has served secondary positions within the podiatric community including Residency Director of Podiatry at Community Hospital Medical Center as well as Associate Professor and Clinic Coordinator at the Arizona Podiatric Medicine Program, at Midwestern University College of Health Sciences in Glendale, Arizona. In his spare time, Dr. Friedlander continues teach at Midwestern University.
Dr. Friedlander has used his extensive experience of practice within the geriatric community to lecture and author several papers such as “Metatarsalgia in the Aging Foot.”
Dr Friedlander is proud to say that he has been married to Tricia, a registered dietitian, for over 36 years and has two children, both having attained advanced medical degrees. Joel is a pediatric gastroenterologist and Mindy, a PhD in Nursing. Healing seems to run in the family.
Dr. Friedlander is committed to giving back to the community and volunteers at the free foot clinic at the Justa Center, a day center for homeless Veterans.
