The purpose of the academy is to promote the Community Oriented Policing philosophy through the exchange of information between citizens and law enforcement.
The Peoria Police Department’s Citizen's Academy is designed for those who live or work in Peoria, are 18 years of age and older, and who are interested in learning about the department and the work of officers in our city . The academy provides an opportunity for the general public to see inside the everyday responsibilities of our fine men and women in uniform. Whether you are interested in law enforcement as a career, want to learn more about your local police department, or just want the experience of a lifetime, the PPD ‘s Citizens academy is for you!
