About Packages From Home
On 9/11 Christian Lewis watched the Twin Towers fall and enlisted in the US Army infantry the next day. His mother, and Packages From Home Founder, Kathleen Lewis, sent him care packages when he was first deployed to Iraq in 2004. Christian said receiving Packages From Home not only provided needed and familiar items but also reminded him he hadn't been forgotten-that there were people back home supporting him. Unfortunately, Christian was the only soldier in his squad receiving packages and letters from home. Kathleen rallied her closest friends and decided to “adopt” Christian’s entire squad. The group began shipping packages to all of the troops in Christian’s unit and Packages From Home was born.
